A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child

I finally was able to watch the fifth movie of the A Nightmare on Elm Street series. There are only two parts of the original series left to watch, but after these I'm also watching Freddy vs. Jason and the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Wow, that sucked. The movie was a sort of fitting sequel for part 4, but wow, could it have been any worse? I don't get why they continued making these movies because they became only worse instead of better. Like I already said in my previous reviews, they should have stopped at part 3. Part three was a perfect ending, but no they had to continue. And since that movie wasn't really much of a success, I wonder why they even continued the movies?
Alice, having survived the previous installment of the Nightmare series, finds the deadly dreams of Freddy Krueger, starting once again. This time, the taunting murderer is striking through the sleeping mind of Alice's unborn child. His intention is to be "born again" into the real world. The only one who can stop Freddy is his dead mother, but can Alice free her spirit in time to save her own son?
This movie is equally as bad as part 2: Freddy's Revenge. Freddy's Revenge was a bad movie because of the random story, The Dream Child was bad because of other reasons. For instance, the script. The following up of every survivor of the previous movie get's a bit boring after a while. Also, the acting is terrible. There is this guy Joe Seely (playing Mark Gray) who has less facial emotions than Kristen Stewart, an achievement where he can be sort of proud of. The special effects were also terrible, they looked very cheap. The blood looks terrible, it's looks like somebody stepped on a tomato, which isn't a good thing for a horror. Really, watching this movie is an immense drag. I wanted to stop watching it because it was so bad and boring.
This movie is all about Freddy again. You get a clear view of Freddy Krueger himself, and I think it's the clearest view you get of him so far (part 1 till 5). This gives you the chance to really observe Freddy. This might be a bad thing, because like I said, the special effects were terrible. And so was the make-up. So when they give a clear view of Freddy, you only see the fake looking make-up unfortunately. You also see Robert Englund himself in this movie, so, without the make up. It's a nice touch seeing himself in a movie.
They also create a 'fake' story of Freddy in this movie. In the previous movies you see that his mother, Amanda Krueger was a nun who worked at a sort of jail. She was hidden by the prisoners for a few days and in these days she was raped by a lot of these prisoners. The story is that Freddy is the son of all these evil souls living in the prison. You also know from the first movie that Freddy was a 'normal' human being who killed children. Well, in this movie they suddenly assume that Freddy was born like a monster. Of course he was a monster inside, because of his evil father(s). But he was not literally a monster, like they image him in this movie.
What I wonder is how is it possible that Freddy keeps returning. In the previous movie it was sort of logical because his remainings were buried up by a dog. But how it was possible that he came back in this movie? Nobody knows.
I thought it was a bit selfish of Alice to keep the baby. Since Freddy is killing her friends through her baby and such, why would she keep the baby? If there is no baby, there is no Freddy Krueger. I know that the baby was the last thing that remained from her boyfriend, but if you have the ability to stop the killing by giving up your baby, why wouldn't you do it? In my opinion it was extremely selfish and very unbelievable.

There was one nice thing about this movie and that was the comic twist. Seeing Mark pictured as a comic hero was kinda cool. It reminded me of the dream powers from the third movie: Dream Warriors.
This movie is really terrible. The story doesn't change from the previous movies besides getting only worse. There is absolutely no use in watching this movie. It adds nothing to the previous movies and you certainly don't know anything more about Freddy. The only things that were told in this movie made the previous movies only confusing so please don't bother watching this.
