7eventy 5ive
IMDB rate: 4,6
Genre: Slasher
So last weekend I watched 7eventy 5ive again (why the stupid numbers written in the name?). From what I could remember it was a reasonable movie but after seeing it again... well, it appeared not to be.
Finals at the prestigious University of Dreyskill are finally over and it's time to party. "The Crew", as they are known by their peers and dorm mates, are invited to a rich classmate's hideaway mansion high up in the hills of Colorado. What was supposed to be a weekend of fun and relaxation quickly becomes a trip they will never forget... If they survive! A simple game of prank scare phone calls becomes an intense game of survival and escape when one of the Crew members accidentally calls the wrong person.
So at the beginning of this movie you see a bunch of children at a sleepover party while their parents also have a party. At this party the children call also a murderer who comes over and kills all the adults. At this point I'm wondering, there is only a very small chance that the person they called was nearby since I believe they can call anybody in America. So that's one strange thing. Also, why does the killer only kills the parents?
So after that you see a few teenagers going to the party, and it appeared that there are a few survivors from the last time. And really, one of them wants to play this damn prank game again! One of the kids who saw his parents slaughtered in front of his eyes! So of course, you know what's going to happen, the killer comes again. At this point I'm not entirely sure if it's the same guy because the movie is quite confusing. But again, they can call anybody in America (I believe) and they again call someone that is nearby?!
There is also a side story that the killer of the first time is searching for every kid that survived and kills them. A few cops are searching for him but are of course too late every time.
As you might have noticed, it's a weird story. I still don't get anything of it. Eventually one of them appeared to be the killer but he also has a twin brother suddenly or something who also appears to be the killer.
The acting is not that good, it's a weird bunch of friends and they appear to have no connection at all. Eventually you find out that there are two or three survivors of the first time in the group but you can't even see that they're supposed to know each other that long already.
The movie sets in a big house with a bunch of cameras. This is one of the most useless additions ever because at one point you see that a girl is watching the screens but for some reason she is still surprised when someone told her who got killed. She watched the screens! She could see for herself!
I seriously don't get this movie....
All together, not a great movie. Weirdest plot ever and the acting is that so good. There's much blood but that's the only fun in this movie.
Btw; sorry for the bad quality of the pictures.
My personal rate: 4/10
I've heard of this one, and I didn't hear good things about it. Just that it's dumb and gory. I'm sure I'll still check it out in the future when it crosses my path. I'm always up to give any film a chance. Great review.
