The Walking Dead: Season 4, episode 3: Isolation

Oops, I'm a bit late this week. In fact, today the new episode already airs in America, which means I'm a week late! Oops!
I still have to wait another day until the new episode airs here, and I probably can't even watch it immediately because of school. Too bad, but I will record it so I won't miss a thing.

!!SPOILERS!!

Well, the last episode ended in a very mysterious way. Someone burned two bodies and someone is feeding the zombies. This episode we got answer to one of those mysteries, or well, we know who did it. We still don't know why she did it. If your still reading further, this is your last warning, there are spoilers ahead. Massive ones, so stop reading (if you want)! So, apparently it was Carol who did it. At least, that's what she is saying. Personally, I don't buy it. I think she is covering up for someone, perhaps one of the girls. But then again, two little girls can't drag two bodies around I guess. Speaking of those girls, I don't trust that girl Lizzie, especially when her sister said that she was 'messed up'. I think there will happen a lot involving her.

In this episode it was shown that the sickness in the prison is very serious, a lot of people already died and many are still sick. Daryl, Tyreese, Bob and Michonne are traveling to search for medicine, and of course they are being attacked by walkers too. I thought it was slightly funny because Daryl is the well-known redneck from The Walking Dead, and seeing him with 3 black people in a car was very amusing.
Anyway, the sickness in the prison is also affecting our 'heroes' which gives a lot of tension in the show. My dearest Glenn is sick and it seems that Hershel is getting ill too, not good!
I really hope they let Glenn live though, because his character is great and I think he's important for the show. I'm not too sure about Hershel's future since he is already older and weaker with his leg and stuff so it might be possible that he will die in one of these upcoming episodes. Not too sure though, since he's quite a big character in the show.

Personally I thought this episode was less good as the previous one. It was not bad or something, but I think it was equally as good as the first episode. What I'm still missing is action, more walking or more drama. Sure there is some drama and mystery in the prison with all these sick and new people, but I hope there will be a bit more action in the upcoming episodes. I like that we saw a bit more of Michonne this episode, I think she lost her child before the apocalypse or something, I think it will be an interesting story when we get to hear this.
And OMG I just read a HUGE spoiler for the next episode, and now I don't want to watch it because it breaks my heart a tiny bit.

Trailer: Misogynist

Misogynist

Synopsis:
A Male chauvinist guru guides his best prodigy through the art of controlling women, only for the student to find out he is not everything that he seems.

I guess that the title is pretty straight forward, but it seems to be a lot more about controlling woman, rather than actually hating them. I very curious how this will turn out because it seems rather interesting.
What I suspect from this movie is that it will have a very dark undertone and secretly I hope that we get to see a lot from this darkness!

I am a bit scared about the IMDB trivia though: "Loosely based on true events", oh my....

Review: Lost [Season 4]

Lost
Season 4
IMDB rate: 8,5
Genre: TV Show, Mystery, Drama

Time for season 4! Again, I'm a bit ahead of this post already because at the moment I'm halfway through season 6, which means that I'm almost finished. Season 4 is still decent, there are some new characters introduced and they are quite cool. However, I also watched season 5 and a bit of season 6 too and I can say for sure that season 5 is the most terrible one. It's really going nowhere and it just doesn't fit with the story. Season 6 is pretty weird too, but it's less weird as season 5. But anyway, we're here to discuss season 4!

In season 4 people are finally close to being rescued, but since this was already shown in the beginning of the season, we knew that this was not going to be that easy. And of course, it wasn't.
It took this entire season for them to being rescued, and well, as you can imagine, sometimes things are getting standard and boring. But, you did read that right! They are being rescued!

But why does it not end here at season 4?
Well, of course not everyone went with them. Some stayed out if freewill, some were forced to and some were kidnapped. So, we of course needed to know what happened with them, so there you go, another season story!
Sure, I get that some people wanted to stay, but it was not very clear why the ones saved never came back to the island. Also, why lie about all the dead people? Just because some people are still alive doesn't mean that other people will find the island.

All together, season 4 was a bit unnecessary with a few aspects. For example, why could they just not simply be saved at the end of season 3? The show would have ended so much better and there wouldn't be 3 unnecessary and not-so-good seasons. The things added in season 4 were a bit lame and totally not logical, which made it much less good as the previous 3 seasons.

Of course there are new characters introduced to the show, because what else would keep it interesting?
There are 4 new main characters introduced, they are the so called rescuers. But instead of rescuing them, they seem to have a different purpose on this island - of course.

!!! SPOILERS!!!

  • Miles Straume: Played by Ken Leung. At first a bit of a boring adding to the show. He seemed to be just another scumbag with some unusual story. Miles has the ability to see the last moments of someones life. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that now also some people get abilities! Everything to keep it interesting, right? Anyway, after awhile his character grew a lot and he now seems a lot nicer and more interesting.
  • Daniel Faraday: Played by Jeremy Davies. Personally he is my favorite one of the new cast members. He seems to be a very confused and smart man, personally I find him adorable. He knows a lot about the island and actually helps a lot.
  • Frank Lapidus: Played by Jeff Fahey. I also like him a lot, he was supposed to be the pilot of Flight 815 but stepped out at the last moment. He knew all this time that the plane of the bottom of the ocean wasn't the real one and so he decided to check out were the real one is. He is a very likable character and seems to care a lot for everyone.
  • Charlotte Lewis: Played by Rebecca Mader. For me she was kinda useless. She went to the island to search for her home again or something. To be it was a very lame story and I think that she was only added to have 'another pretty face' on the show.
And again, a list of good and bad episodes!

Favorites:
Episode 2: Confirmed Dead
Episode 5: The Constant
Episode 7: Ji Yeon
Episode 8: Meet Kevin Johnson

Least favorite ones:
Episode 4: Eggtown
Episode 6: The Other Woman
Episode 9: The Shape of Things to Come
Episode 11: Cabin Fever

The fourth season only has 14 episodes, that's almost half of the previous three seasons. I'm glad though that there are a lot less, because else it would probably become unbearably bad.
In this seasons there's some stupid talking about a guy named Jacob, Locke goes crazy and we figure out who the rescuers are. All together it was not very interesting and it's very sad that they kept continuing the show this far. It's absolutely unnecessary and it gives the show a bad name.
In the previous seasons there were flashbacks of the life of each character, their story of their life before the island. In the new seasons there are flash-forwards to the moments were they are already rescued. What happens with them afterwards and how do they react on it. I don't think that this is a bad thing because it does explain a lot, but it does give away a bit of the mystery of the show - will they be rescued or not?

Personally I thought this season was a lot less interesting compared to the previous three. While I watched season 5 I almost stopped watching because it became very lame, but I did continue watching because I still was a bit curious. I don't think I will ever get the answers to the questions I have though, because there are not that many episodes left to watch.
I think that if people start watching Lost that they should stop at season 2 or 3, after season 3 things are getting weird, lame and very unoriginal. Also, there are all kinds of additions that are supposed to keep things interesting, but really are not.

My personal rate: 6,5/10

Review: It's Alive (2008)

It's Alive
IMDB rate: 3,6
Genre: Killer Kid

It's Alive is one of those horror movies that I bought without knowing what it's about. I can't even remember anymore where exactly I bought it but I already figured that this movie can't be too good.  Damn, was I right. Again, I watched this movie in a not too sober state and in contrast with Black Sheep, this movie is not so bad that it's good. This movie is just bad.
Come on, if a movie is not even funny when you're drunk then it must be terrible ;D.

Pregnant college student Lenore Harker leaves college before the end of the semester to move to an isolated house with her boyfriend Frank. When Lenore is ready to deliver the baby, they drive to the hospital. In the surgery room, the two doctors and the two nurses are found slaughtered and Lenore and the baby are found covered in blood. When Lenore is released, the family returns to Frank's house where things are getting weird...

My friend and I figured out that this movie should be between Bride of Chucky and  Seed of Chucky. The ending of Bride of Chucky would have fitted perfectly with this movie. The killing baby could have been a puppet so that it's indeed Glen/Glenda, this is mainly because the baby is that CGI-obvious that it easily could have been the doll. It looks terrible!

And sorry but how bad is that mother if her baby can crawl out of the cage MULTIPLE TIMES, to kill the mothers friends? If this happens once, ok that sucks but you do something about it! Lock the kid up, at least check up on it every few minutes. Don't be a dick and accept that your child is that fucked up that you need to do something about it. Don't be all chill that your child just killed all of your best friends.

The acting is horrible, if your baby just killed one of your friends, or a rabbit for that matter, on a brutal way, you are not going to be all Kristen Stewart about it.

Honestly, this is a really weird movie. A young student gets a baby, baby is fucked up and kills everyone and everyone is being chill about it. I'm sorry, but where the fuck was the father all this time? Why do you keep covering up for your fucked up baby? How can the baby even do this? Or how the hell can an adult not defend themselves from an one week old baby?! It's all just too ridiculous and there are no explanations given whatsoever, it's just a lame slaughter movie.

I honestly can't recommend watching this movie to anyone. It's really crap and not even funny crap. Terrible acting and especially a terrible script.
Oh, and as my friend noticed correctly, where the hell was the Frankenstein reference with a title like that?

My personal rate: 1/10

Review: Black Sheep (2006)

Black Sheep
IMDB rate: 5,8
Genre: Comedic, Zombie

Last weekend I watched Black Sheep, and I must admit that Black Sheep is an excellent movie to watch drunk. And that is of course exactly what I did. It's an absolute weird movie about zombie sheep and well, it's much harder to appreciate while sober.

Growing up on the family sheep farm was idyllic for smart, sensitive Harry Oldfield, except for some knavish mischief from cocky brother Angus, until their dad has a fatal accident. Fifteen years later, Harry was finished sheep-phobia therapy and his ICT schooling and returns. Angus buys him out, all ready to present the genetically engineered Oldfield sheep he bred with a ruthless team. When environmentalist Grant steals a discarded embryo, which has sharp teeth, he gets bitten by it, and thus the first to be infected with predatory hunger and a mechanism that turns any mammal into a werewolf version. Running for the farm men, Grant's mate, student Experience, gets teamed up with Harry and his boorish but gentle pastoral youth friend Tucker. They must survive both the bloodthirsty sheep and their creators, who didn't realize this yet but dispose of an antidote.

Well, in all these years we've seen plenty zombie movies. Good ones, bad ones, hilarious ones and unbearable ones. Then, there is Black Sheep. I think Black Sheep is an excellent mix between all of these things. It's so bad that it's good, and it so unbearably bad that's it's hilarious. Black Sheep is indeed a movie about sheep, in fact, about zombie sheep. This sounds bad, and I must say it actually is bad. But, I loved it.

The whole concept of zombie sheep is ridiculous. We've seen plenty ridiculous horror movies and not all of them turned out too great. Black Sheep however, is quite great because it does not take itself serious.

A weird horror movie can go a few ways. It can be good because it does not take itself serious. It can be bad because it does take itself serious. Or it has to be an amazingly awesome script that can take this weirder horror side. Unfortunately, we've seen more of the first two than of the latter one.

Back to Black Sheep again. Black Sheep comes from New Zealand, which means that we see a lot of amazing scenery and beautiful views. Also, a lot of sheep. I think it's quite brilliant that they took something out of this typical New Zealand element and made a horror movie out of it.

The acting is reasonable, not too great but absolutely not unbearably bad. It's good on a comedic way. The scenery is beautiful, of course because this movie takes place in New Zealand. There are two sorts of sheep in this movie, real sheep and CGI sheep. The CGI sheep look terrible in a funny way. They look so bad that you can't do anything else besides laughing.

I do recommend that everyone should watch Black Sheep, it's a comedic horror movie about zombie sheep and be honest, who wouldn't want to see that? I loved watching it!

Review: Lost [Season 3]

Lost
Season 3
IMDB rate: 8,5
Genre: Mystery, TV Show, Drama

Ah, I've reached season 3! Well actually, that's a lie... At the moment I'm halfway through season 5 already, but because I was very busy with school I did not have any time to write a review about it yet. But that does not matter, because better late than never!

Season 3 is very different from season 1 and 2, because it's mainly about 'The Others'. Some people are being held as prisoners by the others, while the rest of the group still is on the beach. There are many rescue actions in the season which causes a lot of people changing location. Main thing is that there is not one big group anymore, because they are on two different places on the island. So, a whole new story to work with. We were very curious about these others in the previous seasons but unfortunately, they were not that special in my opinion. We still don't know a whole lot more about the island and to be honest, sometimes things are only more confusing instead of clearer.
What, or I'd rather say 'who', I found very irritating on this season was Kate. She was running between Sawyer and Jack as her lover and it became very annoying after awhile.

I heard that many people stopped watching in this season because they were getting bored by it. I can understand that people are finding this boring and too much, because there doesn't seem to be an end to all these ideas. Personally, I still liked season 3. But now I've seen season 4 and 5, things are getting really boring. But, I still try to continue watching it!

Again, there are some new characters in this season.

!!!WARNING, SPOILERS!!!

  • Ben Linus: Ben Linus is played by Michael Emerson, and I must say that he does an excellent job in performing his role as an asshole. Ben Linus is absolutely not a lovable character, and for some reason, everybody trusts him. Even after everything that he does, they still talk to him. Okay, I understand that they do not kill the guy immediately, but DUDE, after two or three seasons of him being an asshole, just shoot him! I was kinda annoyed by this after a while.
  • Desmond Hume: I love Desmond, he became one of my favorite characters of this show. His accent is funny and the actor (Henry Ian Cusick) plays him very well. I love how his character became a bigger part of the main group.
  • Juliet Burke: Another one of The Others. What an absolute cunt for being undercover for everybody. And what's even worse, she admitted that she was betraying everyone for two or three times already, and they still accept her in the group. I was very annoyed with this woman, and I still think she's an useless addition to the show.
There are also a few smaller characters, like Nikki and Paulo, but they died quite soon after we learned a bit about them. Also, we get to know a few of The Others. And of course there is Rousseau and her daughter Alex.

Here is my list of my favorite episodes and my least favorite episodes.

Favorites:
Episode 6: I Do
Episode 8: Flashes Before Your Eyes
Episode 10: Tricia Tanaka is Dead
Episode 18: D.O.C.
Episode 19: The Brig
Episode 21: Greatest Hits
Episode 22: Through the Looking Glass

Least favorite ones:
Episode 3: Further Instructions
Episode 5: The Cost of Living
Episode 9: Stranger in a Strange Land
Episode 13: The Man From Tallahassee
Episode 14: Expose

I really liked the last episode of this season, it was a great loss for the show but it's good that it happened. It was a very touching episode and it really gave me tears in my eyes. I'm sad that he is gone but else it would be too weird that no one of the main cast would die.

I still liked season 3, even though it's a lot different from the previous two seasons. Season 3 is still fun and season 4 is bearable. But I must say that season 5 is really too far-fetched and it's getting a bit boring. Such a shame. Anyway, I hope I can continue watching the show, because I only have half of season 5 and season 6 left to watch. I'm quite curious about how they will end this show.

My personal rate: 7/10

The Walking Dead: Season 4, episode 2: Infected

Ah, it was that time of the week again! The Walking Dead, episode 2!
I'm a day later than what I intended to, I know, but better late than never, huh?

!!SPOILERS!!

We were left off in quite a predictable situation at the end of the first episode, and that was with a young boy being very sick. The young boy unfortunately died inside the jail which caused that he became a zombie eventually. Well, we all know that the next episode will have many deaths. And well, we were not disappointed.

Remember me telling you how many new people were introduced? Well, many got killed off again. Unfortunately for them.
But it gets worse, because the virus the kid died of seems to be infective. So anyone who got in this cellblock where he killed a lot of people, can be infected by this.
Animals are infected by this, humans are starting to get infected by this and even zombies appear to be infected by this. It shows that the people should be afraid of more than zombies. Everyone they knew died because of a zombie bite, but they should realize that there's more in the world that could kill them. I think this will give a very interesting twist to the show. Also, it may cause a lot of deaths, so I suspect that there are coming many interesting new episodes.

Now what I found the most interesting of this episode was that someone appears to be feeding the zombies by the fence. Also, there are a whole lot other strange things going on in the prison.

There were a lot of deaths in this episode and strangely enough you didn't see much of it. This episode was a lot more on an emotional route instead of a bloodbath route. We see a lot more of Michonne and Tyreese, and even Carol seems to grow as a character. It's very different from the 'usual' Walking Dead, but I quite liked to see an episode different from the usual ones. This episode was a lot better than the previous one because it's filled with new mysteries and I can only hope it will continue to grow like this.
All I can say is: Why isn't it next week yet?
