The Human Centipede.. what a ride it has been. It started with the first Human Centipede movie which turned out to be the only movie from The Netherlands that I actually somewhat liked. The story was original and it all worked out pretty good I think. The second Human Centipede (The Full Sequence) movie was actually just plain awful. It really was just made to shock and had no interesting value whatsoever. The third movie was an entirely different story though, for some reason it tries to be comedic and tries to make fun of itself. It's not horror at all anymore, it's not shocking, disgusting or anything close to the first two parts. It tries to be funny, but fails at that pretty badly as well.

Bully prison warden Bill Boss, leading a big state prison in the USA, has a lot of problems; his prison statistically has the highest amount of prison riots, medical costs and staff turnover in the country. But foremost he is unable to get the respect he thinks he deserves from his inmates and the state Governor. He constantly fails in experimenting with different ideas for the ideal punishment to get the inmates in line, which drives him, together with the sizzling heat, completely insane. Under threats of termination by the Governor, his loyal right hand man Dwight comes up with a brilliant idea. A revolutionary idea which could change the American prison system for good and save billions of dollars. An idea based on the notorious Human Centipede movies, that will literally and figuratively get the inmates on their knees, creating the ultimate punishment and deterrent for anyone considering a life of crime. Having nothing to lose, Bill and Dwight create a jaw-dropping 500-person prison centipede.

While I thought Dieter Laser performed excellent in the first part, I was annoyed as hell watching him in this movie. Sure, maybe he played his role as lunatic prison boss well, but it was hard to look at that while being annoyed so much. His shouting, screaming and blurting did not make sense most of the time. Sidekick Laurence R Harvey had a role with more lines this movie, but while I hated The Human Centipede II, I thought his silence role was more impressive compared to this cartoon-like performance.

Speaking of cartoon-like, I think the whole movie is comparable with a bad cartoon. Everything happening is over-the-top and doesn't make sense whatsoever. The dialogues are as unimaginative as in a bad cartoon and so are most performances. I think the best word for this movie is immature.

The first Human Centipede was a shocking and refreshing movie in my opinion, I liked it a lot. The second Human Centipede didn't make a whole lot of sense but certainly didn't fail to shock. The third Human Centipede however was boring, unimaginative and not fun to watch at all. It didn't even try to shock which I thought was a shame.

I like shocking movies, they often bring what others couldn't. A human centipede of 500 persons isn't more shocking than the one of 3 persons, or 12 for that matter. It all comes to the same conclusion which is that it's just a chain of people eating each others shit. This movie tries to make fun of itself, but really it's just 2 hours of useless screaming surrounded with... no story at all actually. In my opinion just watch the first movie and avoid the other two, maybe if you're into shocking shit without any story whatsoever watch the second one, but the third one, just a big no.

The ABC's of Death 2 (2014)

Finally time to watch The ABC's of Death 2. Wasn't specifically crazy about the first part but I do like the concept of 26 different segments, each one even more crazy than the one before that. I must say that I liked this movie less than the previous one. In the previous one there were quite a number of segments I liked, from this one there were only two very good segments.
There are 26 segments and I will write a little something about each letter, with my rating given too.

A is for Amateur
This one was actually quite funny. First we see an awesome serial killer killing some gang, and it's all going perfectly, but that was just the plan for the killing. Then it's time for the killer to actually get to the job, and everything goes wrong to the point where he dies. Eventually though, his body is found in the air-filtration system which somehow leads to the point where the gang still gets killed.
My rate: 7/10

B is for Badger
Another one that was slightly funny. It's about some camera crew filming a documentary about pollution that killed the badgers. But, instead of dead they rather turned into badger-mutants. Which leads to quite a funny situation.
My rate: 7/10

C is for Capital Punishment
Not bad, it gives a pretty good picture of how wrong a wrong accusation can go. It was a bit too much  exaggerated with the head chopping of though. Not bad, nothing special either.

D is for Deloused 
And we're back to what The ABC's of Death is best known about: it's the 'what the fuck' segments. Deloused is what it starts with, a stop-motion animation about... well I have no fucking clue what it was about. Is was about bugs and an even bigger bug with a huge anus or mouth that sucked up stuff. And then it disappeared into a galaxy of his anus where it got eaten? No seriously, I really had no idea what the hell was going on.

E is for Equilibrium
Best name for this segment would be 'Bro's before ho's'. Nice segment about two guys living in peace together on an island, until the moment a woman arrives. Things are starting to get messy between the guys and well, the woman pretty much forces one to kill the other. Shots fired and..... It was a simple, fresh and nice segment.
My rate: 7/10

F is for Falling
The first one in this movie that was more serious. It was nice though, to have a change from the murdering and weirdness. It was more about a political situation, that turned out different from what I've expected. It was a good segment, with a powerful message and some excellent acting. I liked it.

G is for Granddad 
Oh well, this was just.. weird. Nasty as well. Some punk lives with his granddad who has been sleeping inside the same bed with him each night, hearing him complain and masturbate every night. Then he kills him. Really nasty, nothing special either.

H is for Head Games
I'm not a fan of these short movies, the animation is fairly simple and there's not really a story behind the animation. Well, it's of course about something, because when two people kiss everything is becoming weird but I didn't really see something meaningful behind this segment.
My rate: 3/10

I is for Invincible
About a family that's killing a family member because of her in-heritage. This doesn't work very well though, so they continue to try and kill her shamelessly. Of course, a weird segment, but it was somewhat amusing I must admit. The ending was gross though.
My rate: 5/10

J is for Jesus
Powerful segment about homosexuality. It was very short, but interesting I think. Good use of gore and make-up.
My rate: 6,5/10

K is for Knell
Oh I liked this one. Although there was a great missed chance for a jump-scare, it was very well made. I don't have a clue what 'Knell' means, but it definitely was a good segment. Some black liquid is turning everyone is a murderer, which leads to some nice scary scenes. This was a very nice segment.
My rate: 7,5/10

L is for Legacy
Aaaaaand, we're back to the weird! Badly weird I must add, no idea why this segment was included because it's just terrible. It makes no sense whatsoever, and the so-called creature is not even Syfy channel worthy.
My rate: 1/10

M is for Masticate
For the letter 'M' there was a contest where people could say which segment they liked best, and Masticate was chosen for this. I haven't seen the other segments made for 'M' so unfortunately I can't decide if this really was the best choice. Masticate however was shot entirely in slow-motion which was pretty awesome looking, and of course very fitting since it contained a zombie theme. It was quite funny, nothing special though.

N is for Nexus
Not a memorable segment, but a good one nevertheless. It's a bit comparable with the movie 'Crash' where all kinds of different people encounter each other because of circumstances. This is of course the short version of it, and it was kinda powerful and interesting. Sad as well.

O is for Ochlocracy 
A fresh vision on the zombie genre is always welcome, and this was what Ochlocracy brought us. A woman is being sentenced to death by people who once were zombies. They still slightly are zombies, but vaccinations are bringing them back to conscious. This is a Japanese segment and at first I was afraid this might turn out to be as last 'ABC's of Death' segment 'F is for Fart', but it actually turned out quite decent. Still some weird touches added to it though, but well, what else can we expect....

P is for P-P-P-P-Scary!
You would almost think that the letter 'P' is too difficult to actually combine to an actual word because P-P-P-P-Scary really does not make any sense as a title. It's fitting for the story though, since that's not making any sense either. I am convinced this was filmed with a macbook's application called 'Photobooth' because that's how simplistic the effects looked.

Q is for Questionnaire
A man is taking an IQ test on the street and his outcome is positive that his brains are being transferred to a gorilla. Yes, you read that right, to a gorilla. This segment was nothing special, and didn't look very good either.

R is for Roulette
Perhaps my favorite segment of this movie, it's a black and white short about two men and a woman playing russian roulette in a basement. One of the men knows that the next bullet is going to be for him, instead of killing himself he kills the woman, which happens to be his wife. At that moment the door of the basement is broken down and people are storming in (probably nazi's). The man killed his wife to keep her away from the bad guys. Very simple, yet a very powerful segment. Loved it.

S is for Split
Another good segment. It's about a home invasion with a very twisted outcome. It was simple, but brutal as well.

T is for Torture Porn
Torture Porn is a short made by the Soska Sisters, who are known for American Mary. I think this is like the real life version of weird Japanese Hentai, where tentacles take part in some private business. It was not a bad segment though, the woman was treated horribly by the men, and she took some nice revenge ;).
My rate: 6,5/10

U is for Utopia
An interesting segment, about an "ugly" man walking through some sort of futuristic building, when he knocks over a post he is being executed at the spot while being singled out by perfect looking people. When the deed is done, they clap and resume their business. It was a very interesting segment, with a subject that would fit good as well in a full movie. It was good looking and acted quite well.

V is for Vacation
Found-footage movie, of course there had to be one of them in ABC's of Death 2. It was pretty well done, not the most interesting subject but it was filmed nicely and the acting was pretty good. Quite a decent segment.

W is for Wish
Weird, weirder, weirdest? A more fitting title for this segment I think. Some people liked it, but I was just not a fan of Wish-man and his weird adventures.
My rate: 3/10

X is for Xylophone
A familiar face in the form of Inside's Beatrice Dalle. A very unethical, disturbing segment which could be a sequel to Inside. Shocking it was, pretty awesome though ;D.

Y is for Youth
We're back with the weird! A girl fantasizes about the death of her parents, in very weird ways. Giant penises show up, monsters show up, and all killing her parents very brutally... It was funny because it was just too weird to take this seriously.
My rate: 5/10

Z is for Zygote
Okay, Zygote was bizarre, but it had an interesting touch to it. A woman is left by her husband while she's pregnant, because she's afraid that her baby will leave her as well, she just refuses to give birth. With as result --> 13 years later, a very big "baby" is still in mommy's belly, but the kid really wants to come out. In a very messed up way.... I must say that I liked this one, it was weird but one an interesting level.

All together, it was a weird experience once again watching an ABC's of Death movie. This time as well there was booze involved, which really is needed to watch this movie since some things are just really too weird to watch sober. I didn't like it as much as the previous one, with that said, I wasn't a big fan of the first movie either ;p. My favorite segment was Roulette, please let me know yours :D.

Tusk (2014)

Kevin Smith, also known as Silent Bob, just made a step further into the horror genre. I am a huge fan of his movies Clerks and Dogma. I even thought Red State was a fairly good movie, although it's not comedic in any way, which isn't much like Kevin Smith's usual work. With the Tusk trailer being released I must say that I was somewhat excited to see it, mainly because it seemed pretty ridiculous and kinda fun as well, plus it was made by Kevin Smith. I must say that it was a pretty ridiculous movie indeed, but unfortunately it was not funny at any point. There are movies that are 'so bad, it's good', I expected Tusk to be one of them but unfortunately this wasn't the case at all. I don't necessarily think every Kevin Smith movie is good, some I didn't enjoy very much such as as Chasing Amy. But with Tusk I must say that it definitely Kevin Smith's worst movie. The worst part? It's being made into a trilogy. 

Unfortunately the movie is not funny at any point. Okay, maybe once or twice I had a little chuckle, but really that's about it. It's filled with Canadian jokes, which weren't very original or funny at any moment. The big attraction to this movie is of course big star Johnny Depp who plays a weird Canadian detective, his character is pretty much constructed from every Canadian-stereotype you can think of, which is pretty tiresome after awhile. I must admit that in the first few minutes of Guy Lapointe's appearance I didn't recognize Johnny Depp, but after awhile his usual acting habits appeared and it became pretty obvious that the guy was Johnny Depp. 

I must say that for a long while I claimed that my favorite actor of all time was Johnny Depp, but the last few years his movies have been rubbish. The last fun movie I've seen of him are the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' ones and that's already quite some time ago (I don't count the fourth one, didn't like that one very much). I do like his older work a lot though, movies as Edward Scissorhands, Chocolat, Finding Neverland and Sleepy Hollow. The reason why I think I don't like him a whole lot anymore is because of the characters he plays. He always plays the weird ones, which was fun for awhile but now it's just becoming normal. Johnny Depp in another weird character, whoop'difuckingdoo.

The Tusk cast is pretty nice, the crazy Walrus man is being played by Michael Parks (Kill Bill, Red State, Django Unchained), not a bad actor at all and he has a magnificent voice. The problem with his voice however is that Kevin Smith seems to enjoy it as well, meaning that the dialogues spoken by Michael Parks are pretty much never-ending, which was also the case with Red State. Other roles are played by Justin Long (Accepted, Jeepers Creepers) who plays the ultimate douchebag, I don't hate him as an actor though. A surprising face to see was Haley Joel Osment, the cute little kid from Sixth Sense. However, he's not very cute anymore, still a good actor though.

Kevin Smith was always a writer that added a lot of dialogue into his movies, but the last few movies have contained more of a background story as well. I think he's trying to reach Quentin Tarantino's level with this kind of movie-making. The problem is that Kevin Smith just does not seem to be very good in creating the background story. Tusk almost seems like a parody to the Human Centipede, which isn't necessarily a bad concept, but it just didn't work out at all. When the transformation is complete is looks somewhat unsettling, but is in no way as disturbing as the Human Centipede.

I already mentioned this but Tusk will be followed by two sequels, which will be part of the 'True North' collection. The next installment is 'Yoga Hosers' with the main characters being played by Depp's and Smith's daughters. These two were also briefly in Tusk, and as far I could tell they weren't good actresses at all. They seemed very awkward and I just can't imagine the two being main characters. The third installment is 'Moose Jaws', which doesn't sound very promising either.

I heard rumors that this trilogy is only being made because Kevin Smith needed some money to be able to make Clerks 3, and I truly hope that this is the case. I am a big fan of Clerks and a third movie would be awesome. Even though I'm looking forward to Clerks 3, Tusk was definitely not a success for Kevin Smith and I doubt the next two part will be better. The movie has a good cast which solid acting skills, the dialogue is perhaps a bit long but not bad or anything. Unfortunately the whole concept of Tusk is horrible, the walrus is weird looking, the movie isn't funny and the characters are highly irritating. 

Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead (2014)

My rate: 8/10

You wouldn't know how much I'm bummed out that I only watched this movie in 2015, because otherwise this movie would've been on number 1 for my top 5 horror movies of 2014 for sure. What an absolutely brilliant movie. I already was a big fan of the first Dead Snow, but this one is even more awesome compared to that. The nazi zombies were already a brutal way to approach the zombie genre, but in Red vs. Dead this approach is going a few steps further by brutally murdering children, elders and the disabled. I can already tell you that if you're easily offended this movie is absolutely not right for you.

Here is what Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead about:
If the worst day of your life consisted of accidentally killing your girlfriend with an axe, chain-sawing your own arm off, and watching in horror as your closest friends were devoured by a zombified Nazi battalion, you'd have to assume that things couldn't get much worse. In Martin's case, that was only the beginning.

Dead Snow was already an amazing movie, funny, brutal and a true gore-fest. Surprisingly enough the sequel happens to be even better compared to Dead Snow. It's very different compared to the previous movie, not only in setting but it's also funnier, even more brutal and it's filled with even better gore. Right after Martin's arm is being reattached (Idle Hands meets Dead Snow) you'll laugh your socks off with a certain reanimating scene. At that moment I knew how awesome this movie was going to be.

I thought it was pretty cool that they did some sort of America-European crossover, mainly because I think it might prevent Hollywood from remaking Dead Snow. I like Martin Starr, he is in some of my favorite comedies and not to forget the great show Freaks and Geeks. I thought the Star Wars fan was a bit lame, but well, it fits the movie I suppose. Vegar Hoel returns as Martin and while he was a bit of a pansy in Dead Snow, he became pretty badass in Red vs. Dead. Definitely a great performance by Vegar Hoel. Another familiar face is Stig Frode Hendriksen (who also happens to be one of the writers, besides Vegar Hoel), who returns in a different role since his previous character was pretty much... well, butchered off.

I must admit that the entire movie I felt incredibly sorry for the zombie-sidekick. Even though he had some pretty nasty moments, he was pretty much fucked the entire movie. It was a nice touch to the movie though. Not so nice-looking was the zombie sex - gross!

As with Dead Snow, the make-up was great looking in this part. Perhaps even better looking too, it was quite noticeable that the budget was a bit higher compared to Dead Snow. Nazi-zombies were never better looking than this. Some great camera-work and nice special effects as well.

Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead is not only an excellent sequel, it's just an amazingly brilliant movie overall. It contains great acting, some good jokes and some great gore. Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead is even more over-the-top than the first one, and I LOVED it. Definitely not a movie everyone will enjoy, but for those who love movies such as Shaun of the Dead, Cockneys vs. Zombies and Evil Dead will most definitely like this one.

Housebound (2014)

Sorry for my absence, I promise I'll be updating regularly again from now on :).
 A few weeks ago I watched the movie Housebound, a movie from New Zealand. I've seen only one other horror movie from New Zealand, which is of course the magnificent Black Sheep, so well, I had high expectations of this movie! The poster of this movie looks pretty hilarious, so based upon the good looking poster I decided to watch Housebound, without any knowledge of what it was about. When I finally learned that the movie was about a girl trapped inside the house because of a warrant, I was afraid that the movie would be something like 100 Feet, thank god that wasn't the case.

Here's what Housebound is about:
Kylie Bucknell is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention. Her punishment is made all the more unbearable by the fact she has to live there with her mother Miriam - a well-intentioned blabbermouth who's convinced that the house is haunted. Kylie dismisses Miriam's superstitions as nothing more than a distraction from a life occupied by boiled vegetables & small town gossip. However, when she too becomes privy to unsettling whispers & strange bumps in the night, she begins to wonder wheter she's inherited her overactive imagination, or if the house is in fact possessed by a hostile spirit who's less than happy about the new living arrangement.

The first thing that's noticeable about Housebound is the atmosphere, it's somewhat dark but also not very serious. This feeling is being highlighted by the many sarcastic remarks made by the main character Kylie Bucknell. There's not a whole lot of music playing in the background, and when there is music it's very dark. It's gives a bit of a crazy vibe over the movie, because it's so sarcastic and somewhat comedic and yet so dark.

Great acting, Morgana O'Reilly plays the rebellious Kylie Bucknell and she did a great job doing so. I liked her character as well, mainly a rebel but also with a nicer side. I felt sorry for her mother many times, great character writing. The mother played by Rima Te Wiata did an amazing job as well, the role of a sweet caring mother who isn't turning her back on her rebellious daughter was perfect for Rima Te Wiata. I wished to have seen more of the character of the stepfather tough, played by Ross Harper. 

The ending was slightly confusing because there suddenly was a whole lot going on, but overall I really enjoyed watching Housebound. It wasn't a standard ghost movie like we normally see and it wasn't necessarily predictable either. Normally comedic horror movies are more funny than scary, but this movie was actually somewhat scary as well. For example, the toy bear, creepy as hell. It did a great job at combining the two I think. Housebound was an entertaining movie, on moments it was a bit weird, but overall I enjoyed this movie from New Zealand!

Stitches (2012)

I've had my eye on this movie for quite some time already, reason why I never watched is because I'm quite terrified of clown movies and I was waiting till someone else was around until  I watched it. I like movies where clowns are in, they have an amazingly scaring potential in my opinion. I loved the clown part of Amusement, the creepy clown in Cabin in the Woods and of course It. I even made a 'clown' genre section so people could easily find some clown movies to watch. The one thing I'm a bit bummed about is that I've never seen an entirely amazing clown movie so far. The Amusement part is fun, but it only lasts one scene and the rest of the movie sucks ass. The movie It is nice as well, but it has a runtime of 3 hours and the ending was slightly disappointing so still not an entirely good clown movie. 

I was interested in Stitches because it has an amazing poster, it seems scary as hell. Unfortunately Stitches proves once again that you shouldn't judge a movie by it's cover (or poster). It was terrible. I wouldn't say it was as bad as Killjoy, but it's pretty close I think. 

There's incredibly much wrong with this movie, for starters the acting. I've never seen people act this rubbish. The kid is scared to death of clowns, yet he doesn't seemed scared at all. He rather saves all of his buddies (who are all pricks by the way) than himself. 

It's not just the acting that makes this movie incredibly unbelievable, it's also the characters. They're a bunch of pricks, all signed to basic characteristic treats (the obvious gay guy, the womanizer, the prick and his douche-bag girlfriend), and that's where it stops. There's no development in them at all, they're uninteresting and I couldn't care less if any of them would die. 

Their dialogues goes as far as their personalities, the gay guy only making 'OMG' remarks, the womanizer is only commenting at woman's body parts and the prick is only threatening the main character, who's never saved by his friends by the way. It's just standard bullshit that gives no insight in anything whatsoever. 

For some reason they tried to make Stitches a somewhat comedic movie, but it just fails so hard at it. The jokes aren't funny because they're out of context the entire time, also because the dialogue itself was already bad the jokes just go unnoticed in terrible dialogues. The humor goes as far as ripping off penises and tying them to balloons, and making balloon animals from spines, it's just childish and not funny. Also, WHY kill the cat?!

Stitches is meant to be a dark comedy but honestly I thought it was a terrible movie. Bad acting, terrible characters and rubbish dialogues. There's a shitload of blood in it, but it's just too overdone. Someone gets a missing part, everything around gets splattered with more blood than the human body can hold. This all is done in useless slow-motion effects, which is more annoying than anything else. Stitches is a horrible movie and I wouldn't recommend watching it. However, it does have a 5,7 on IMDB and people often gave positive reviews about Stitches. Perhaps it's just not my taste.

Review: The Frighteners (1996)

Another Netflix ghost movies! This time it's a bit different though because The Frighteners is also a very funny movie. This movie is from 1996 but when I watched it I could swear it was a lot older. I'm not sure if they made it look older on purpose or if it's not on purpose, but anyway, I thought the movie was a lot older. 

I don't think this will be a very long review, there's not a whole lot to say I think. 

After a car accident in which his wife, Debra, was killed and he was injured, Frank Bannister develops psychic abilities allowing him to see, hear and communicate with ghosts. After losing his wife, he then gave up his job as an architect, letting his unfinished "dream house" sit incomplete for years, and put these skills to use by befriending a few ghosts and getting them to haunt houses in the area to drum up work for his ghostbusting business; Then Frank proceeds to "exorcise" the houses for a fee. But when he discovers that an entity resembling the Grim Reaper is killing people, marking numbers on their forehead beforehand, Frank tries to help the people whom the reaper is after. 

Michael J. Fox plays the role of Frank Bannister, and this is actually his last leading role in a movie. After this he only did very small parts or TV shows. I am a big fan of Michael J. Fox actually, of course, after seeing Back to the Future, who isn't a big fan of him? Great movies. His character are often the same though as when he was Marty McFly. A funny guy whose also clumsy and clever. I like these roles of him, although they do get a bit boring after awhile. Even in Spin City he was this guy. Anyway, no complains on his acting. He did a good job in this movie I thought. I wasn't too crazy about Trini Alvarado, I'm not familiar with her other acting but in The Frighteners she was a bit fake. She just tried a bit too hard. 

The ghosts in this movie aren't very real looking, I think they're quite crappy looking actually. But in a movie like this it doesn't really matter, because it's not seriously meant anyway. I think this movie is much like The Haunted Mansion, it has the same comedic twist and also the same style of ghosts and stuff. I always loved the watch The Haunted Mansion when I was a kid, and I think if I would've seen this movie when I was that age that I would love it as well. The Frighteners is a bit a family horror movie I think, although it does contain a bit more bloody scenes compared with The Haunted Mansion.

Peter Jackson is the director of this movie by the way, I think it's really fun to see his switch from horror movies like Braindead and The Frighteners to big Hollywood movies such as The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit (and for some reason he made this crap movie called The Lovely Bones in between).  

The Frighteners is a fun family horror movie. The performance of Michael J. Fox is amazing as usual, he really carries this movie. The special effects weren't too great, the ghost were quite fake looking and a bit over the top ghost like, but I wasn't really bothered with it, because it fits the movie. I definitely liked it.

Review: Cockneys vs. Zombies (2012)

I've been seeing this film in cheap movie stores everywhere, and I couldn't help but think that this must be a terrible movie. I did decide to give this movie a watch, and surprisingly enough I quite enjoyed it. It's not a top zombie movie, but it sure is entertaining. 

I love British movies, especially when they're horror. Think of movies like Shaun of the Dead and Lesbian Vampire Killers, they're both incredibly entertaining movies. Now, Cockneys vs. Zombies isn't as good as one of those two, but it's still great fun. That dry humor with the foul language that they use is a very funny combination, throw in some zombies and fun is guaranteed. 

I do think that this movie could've been more attractive with another name. Cockneys vs. Zombies just is a terrible name for a movie. I just expect a terrible movie when I see a title like that. It reminds me of shit movies such as Mega Shark vs. Mega Octopus or stuff like that. But it really is better than the title might make you think. 

The movie gives an interesting perspective I think. You expect that the old people will be useless, but they turn out to be the most badass people of this entire movie. This also results in hilarious chases between an old man and zombies in a very slow speed. Alan Ford really is the star in this movie, I think his role is definitely comparable with his roles in Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

I also love that they immediately know that they're in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, in most zombie movies people act as if they've never seen movies before and have no idea what they're stuck in. In this movie they immediately know what to do, which prevents a lot of useless deaths.

The special effects are good and there's lots of satisfying gore in this movie. The make-up is quite good actually, they look like the nasty buggers from the new Dawn of the Dead, but they have the good old moving pace from Night of the Living Dead. The conversations are hilarious, the characters reactions to the zombies are even more. 

This movie really was entertaining and it was so much more than it's name would suggest. It was fun but also very good. I like it's as if Shaun of the Dead meets Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Good acting, great gore and nice entertainment.

Review: Troll Hunter (2010)

I remember the first time I saw the trailer of this movie, and I couldn't help but think: 'this must be a terrible movie'. But my boyfriend loved the trailer and since that moment he kept saying that he really wanted to watch this movie. So finally I gave in, with the lowest expectations ever. Damn, I don't like admitting this, but I was so wrong. 

When bears are found dead in Norway, the students of the Volda University Thomas, Johanna and the cameraman Kalle decide to investigate. They stalk the trailer of the mysterious hunter Hans expecting to find an explanation for the killings the reluctant Hans tries to flee from the youngsters, but he agrees that they film him in action provided they follow his orders. Sooner the trio of students learns that Hans is actually a troll hunter that works for a secret government agency. Further, several dangerous trolls have escaped from their territory and Hans is assigned to eliminate them.

Troll Hunter is really just about what the name already tells you, it's about a Troll Hunter. It's actually quite an improvement with other horror movies since this one is about trolls, other than the kinda standard werewolves, vampires or zombies. The trolls aren't some scary trolls sort made up to make the movie more scary, no it's kinda literally a fantasy-tale kinda troll.

The first troll we face has three heads, how more literal can you take a children's book? What I loved about this was that we got a clear look on the troll immediately. Even though it's a hand-camera movie, it looks great. When the troll wasn't seen very clearly, we get a night vision shot to show it even better. It looked really good. Most hand-camera movies seem to avoid 'the creatures' to make it more mysterious (or for themselves, cheaper), this movie really did it's best to show each troll as clearly as possible.
The trolls themselves, they really looked like they came out of a fantasy movie, so not very scary, but more dumb like. I thought it was a nice touch to the movie.

What I liked most about this movie was the fact that it wasn't 'over-the-top'. It was not like Dead Snow which was too obvious at trying to be comedic as well. It was actually exactly how it should be. It was fun, but also true to reality in many cases (besides the trolls obviously). It contained normal human reactions, and especially the rabies illness was an awesome addition. The only less fun thing was when the christian guy claimed he wasn't christian, while knowing this could lead to consequences. Another fun thing by the way, the trolls hate christians and can smell them.

The ending was a bit confusing, when the guy ran away with the cameras. Beware by the way, spoilers ahead! Here's my theory: I think that Thomas knew that Finn and stuff wanted to do something with them or their footage, so he ran off, got on the truck and got away with the footage. He died of rabies though before he was able to make a public meeting. The others of the camera crew died because of Finn. Perhaps the Trollhunter died as well, or perhaps he was the one bringing the footage to the public. I couldn't really figure it out.

An amazing thing in this movie was the last troll. It was huge and it looked incredibly awesome. It also looked very real in my opinion, always a big plus.

Troll Hunter was an amazing movie in my opinion. I expected the worst from it, but I got a movie that I recommend to a whole lot of people now. It really was worth the watch, and for those who haven't watched it yet; it's a real good movie.

Review: Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010)

I've seen this movie a thousand times already, but I never started writing about it. I don't exactly know why, since this movie definitely deserves it's review. Tucker & Dale vs. Evil seems predictable at first (think Cabin in the Woods), but turns out completely different from what what you'll expect. I think Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is a brilliant movie, even when you dislike horror movies. It's really awesome.

Two lovable West Virginian hillbillies, are headed to their "fixer-upper" vacation cabin to drink some beer, do some fishin', and have a good time. But when they run into a group of preppy college kids who assume from their looks that they must be in-bred, chainsaw wielding killers, Tucker & Dale's vacation takes a bloody & hilarious turn from the worse.

When the movie starts we get to see the biggest horror cliche ever, a group of teens going camping while being incredibly irresponsible. They'll run into a few hillbillies (Tucker and Dale), and of course they start on the wrong foot. When you see this scene you will be annoyed and I can guarantee you that you'll think: 'not again.....', but luckily when this scene finishes we'll see the real story of this movie. Tucker & Dale's side. It's brilliant to see the incredibly overdone acting of the teenagers, the cliche was terrible as usual, so I guess that the 'overdoing' was being done right.

Now what's different about this movie? First of all, we don't follow the pretty, but shallow students. Instead of that we follow the hillbillies, they are being seen as 'gross' and 'dumb' by the students, but really they are two adorable best friends. It's incredibly cute so see how happy they are about their vacation home. Also, they are not the killing, or rude, hillbilly kind as you might've seen in the normal horror movies. They are just doing their thing, and wind up in the wrong situation. Basically, this movie is the biggest misunderstanding ever, which leads to brutal murders and also hilarious moments. 

The acting of is pretty good. Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine (Tucker and Dale) are both great castings for their roles. They look like regular hillbillies, they talk like hillbillies and they act like hillbillies. The unexpected part where it appears that they are lovable instead of rude comes even more as a surprise because they look so incredible in the beginning. I was especially impressed by Tyler Labine, the incredibly sweet and innocent Dale who fell in love with the pretty student Allison. His acting is the best and most impressive. Great casting for these two.

Now for the student roles, they really are a random bunch. There isn't paid a whole lot of attention to most of them, nor was that necessary. The 'main students' are Allison, the pretty student which is pretty much the cause of everything shitty that happens and there's Jesse, a psycho dude who really saw too many horror movies. 

What's funny about this is that in every horror movie, the people act like they've never seen a horror movie and have no clue what to do, while in this movie it's as if they've watched too many horror movies and exaggerate everything that happens. Which leads to the hysterical blood-filled situations.

There are also a few nice references to other horror movies in Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the chainsaw scene), Army of Darkness (half face burned off) and The Blair Witch Project (the first scene).

I think Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is an amazing comedic horror movie, the first time I saw it I was really surprised by it because it was totally different from what I expected. It's very funny and also very bloody, I really recommend watching it for those who haven't seen it yet. I don't recommend watching the trailer though, since the funniest moments are already in that, they are more awesome to see in the movie.

Review: Misfits (Season 1)

Last week I started watching Misfits, I had no idea what it was about and I always thought that it was about some random kids doing bad things, so I was kinda surprised that it was actually kinda supernatural. Maybe this review isn't very fitting for a horror blog, but hey, it's is a bit supernatural and I really liked this show. Sure, it is about kids doing bad things, but they do have superpowers! How cool is that?

So, I was very surprised when watching this because it was absolutely not what I expected. It really is a good show, it has it's drama, it has it's supernatural stuff and it has it's comedic side. For me it was a very good combination. It has the typical British humor and personally I loved it. 

While the characters are actually a bit scumbags, they start to grow on you. You start caring for them, how strangely it may seem when you first start watching this show. 

I've just finished season 2, so I'll write a review about that too Luckily there are only 6-8 episodes in a season, so it doesn't take as long as watching Lost for example (around 25 episodes each season). 

So a bit about the characters:

Nathan Young: Played by Robert Sheehan. How I hated this guy in the beginning, he was such a cunt and super annoying. But like I said, they start to grow on you, as is it with Nathan. I think that Robert Sheehan is a very good choice for playing Nathan. He just has the right looks and his acting is very convincing. His ability became known quite late, but it is quite a cool one. His ability is that he is immortal, and believe me when I say that he needed it quite a lot.

Alisha Daniels: Played by Antonia Thomas. Another character that started to grow on me, she too was an incredible bitch in the beginning, but I must say that her character became a lot softer after awhile. Antonia Thomas plays her character quite well, she can play both soft and bitchy very convincing so that's a good thing. Her ability is very lame though, if she touches a man he wants to have sex with her. Yeah well, very helpful.. 

Kelly Bailey: Played by Lauren Socha. Excellent casting if you ask me. If you only see her you can't help but think that she's trash. And when she starts to talk everything you thought about her gets confirmed. Amazing acting (or isn't it acted?). But she too get's to be a lot softer after awhile. Her superpower is that she can hear thoughts of everyone. Quite useful, but in my opinion it's isn't used a whole lot.

Simon Bellamy: Played by Iwan Rheon. Personally he is my favorite, he is incredibly adorable and shy and again, he is casted perfectly. I previously saw him as Ramsay Snow in season 3 of Game of Thrones, so this was quite a character switch. I already liked him since the very first episode, and that only grew a whole lot, so I guess I'm a new fan of Iwan. He can be invisible which is quite awesome and useful. It's also something that really fits his character since he is very shy and a bit introvert. 

Curtis Donovan: Played by Nathan Stewart-Jarrett. Not sure what to think of him. He seems okay and he stayed okay through entire season 1 and 2. I don't find him very interesting though. His acting is very good and I can imagine him being the same in real life as he is in character. His ability is to rewind back time. Quite useful but we don't see a whole lot of it unfortunately. He did manage to save everyone a few times though, so that's kinda cool. 

Episode discussing! It will be short I promise, but since there are only 6 episodes it's not too much to talk about.

Season 1, episode 1:

Great beginning. We get to know each character a bit better, in the beginning you may still think that it's only about a few random kids that did bad stuff but then when the lightning hits, things are starting to change! I'm glad this went that quickly or else I might have stopped watching. Great episode with a proper introduction to each character, we know what we can expect from them which is kinda good. We also immediately know that it's not just a show about random kids doing bad stuff, it's about some young folks with superpowers. Also, there's a lot happening which brings a good story for the rest of the season.

Season 1, episode 2: 

We now learn that the five young folks are not the only people who gained superpowers because of the storm. We also learn that these superpowers can be very big, but also very small and useless, for example, a man starts to think that he's a Jack Russell. I thought that was very original. Overall not a very interesting episode, but it was a funny one.

Season 1, episode 3: 

A lot of improvement in the case of this season, the dead body of their probation worker is almost being found so they search for a solution. Again, not a very interesting episode, but again it was a funny one.

Season 1, episode 4: 

Very good episode. Curtis rewinds time so he can make up for all his mistakes, but this has some serious consequences. Again, spoilers! Anyway, when he made up for one mistake, another one was being made. I thought it was brilliant that they all died when he was free, so clever because he saved them all the first time, so it's only logical that they didn't die. 

Season 1, episode 5:

A Simon involving episode, yay! Man, how sorry can I feel for this boy. I think that Iwan Rheon is an excellent (and if I may say, a very attractive) man. It was a very good episode which taught us a lot about Simon and his feelings, we also learn that you don't want to mess with him! But in all seriousness, I really liked this episode.

Season 1, episode 6:

Best episode this far. Nathan becomes a hero, sort of. It was an amazing episode with a lot of happenings. Also a mystery man shows up! Can't say a whole lot about this episode, besides that I loved it.

"We had it all, we fucked up bigger and better than any generation that came before us!"

As you may notice, I became quite a big fan of Misfits. It was absolutely not what I expected from it and that's what made it so great. I really like it and I recommend watching it!

Can't wait until I can watch season 3 tomorrow. And expect a review about season 2 too one of these days.

Review: The World's End (2013)

Yes, also I have finally seen The World's End, and I must admit that I've watched a downloaded version. This is because this shit country decided not to bring it to the cinemas, and honestly, I'm not going to wait until it's finally brought to DVD, because that sometimes takes ages. 

I was very excited about this movie because I am a big Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost fan, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz definitely are in my favorite movies list, so the ending of the so called 'Three Flavors Cornetto' trilogy must be great.

Personally, I did not like it a whole lot. I did not find it a bad movie, but I was definitely disappointed by it. We've seen all these great movies of this combination and you get certain expectations for it. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. 

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries.

I almost died of laughing when watching Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and even Paul, but The World's End only gave me a few chuckles. There was used a lot of the same humor, and I don't think that's a bad thing because the humor is catchy, but I feel like they used it all wrong. Sure, Simon Pegg jumping over the falling fence again is funny, but honestly, that was only one of the few moments that made me laugh. It's sad because it's obviously not one of the original moments.

 I also really missed the line 'you have blue on you' in this movie, come on, perfect opportunity, right? 

I loved seeing all these familiar faces, and with that I mean besides Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. We get to see Martin Freeman and Bill Nighy for example. But if you look closely you can also recognize a few of the zombies. 

It was also funny that they used the same 'kids-group' again. Obviously they are not the same kids anymore, because they are much older by now, but they did use the same types. In Hot Fuzz they are the graffiti kids, in Shaun of the Dead we see a group of kids in the intro and here again, Blank-robot-alien kids. 

While I love Simon Pegg as an actor, I was mostly annoyed by him in this movie. His character is always the main character in his movies, and that's okay but in this movie it was too much. It was all about Simon Pegg and it become a bit annoying. You have this great group of actors together, Nick Frost, Eddie Marsan, Rosamund Pike, Pierce Brosnan and Martin Freeman, and it was all about Simon Pegg. Such a shame. His character is already an asshole, seeing him that much becomes annoying after awhile when he plays such a character. I would have loved to see more about the other characters.

The story is a bit illogical, the Golden Mile pub tour is a fun side story, but when the world really is ending, you won't keep doing it. I felt like they took the idea of protecting themselves from The Winchester of Shaun of the Dead and just doubled it a few times because it was such a success. And by the way, if you are already taking a lot out of your previous movies, why don't actually call a pub 'The Winchester'? That would have been a nice reference. 

The World's End is not a bad movie, it has funny moments and the acting is very good. What was especially excellent about this movie were the action shots, very well done. But personally I expected more from this and I was a bit disappointed after watching it. For me it was a sad ending for the 'Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy'.

Review: Black Sheep (2006)

Last weekend I watched Black Sheep, and I must admit that Black Sheep is an excellent movie to watch drunk. And that is of course exactly what I did. It's an absolute weird movie about zombie sheep and well, it's much harder to appreciate while sober.

Growing up on the family sheep farm was idyllic for smart, sensitive Harry Oldfield, except for some knavish mischief from cocky brother Angus, until their dad has a fatal accident. Fifteen years later, Harry was finished sheep-phobia therapy and his ICT schooling and returns. Angus buys him out, all ready to present the genetically engineered Oldfield sheep he bred with a ruthless team. When environmentalist Grant steals a discarded embryo, which has sharp teeth, he gets bitten by it, and thus the first to be infected with predatory hunger and a mechanism that turns any mammal into a werewolf version. Running for the farm men, Grant's mate, student Experience, gets teamed up with Harry and his boorish but gentle pastoral youth friend Tucker. They must survive both the bloodthirsty sheep and their creators, who didn't realize this yet but dispose of an antidote.

Well, in all these years we've seen plenty zombie movies. Good ones, bad ones, hilarious ones and unbearable ones. Then, there is Black Sheep. I think Black Sheep is an excellent mix between all of these things. It's so bad that it's good, and it so unbearably bad that's it's hilarious. Black Sheep is indeed a movie about sheep, in fact, about zombie sheep. This sounds bad, and I must say it actually is bad. But, I loved it.

The whole concept of zombie sheep is ridiculous. We've seen plenty ridiculous horror movies and not all of them turned out too great. Black Sheep however, is quite great because it does not take itself serious.

A weird horror movie can go a few ways. It can be good because it does not take itself serious. It can be bad because it does take itself serious. Or it has to be an amazingly awesome script that can take this weirder horror side. Unfortunately, we've seen more of the first two than of the latter one.

Back to Black Sheep again. Black Sheep comes from New Zealand, which means that we see a lot of amazing scenery and beautiful views. Also, a lot of sheep. I think it's quite brilliant that they took something out of this typical New Zealand element and made a horror movie out of it. 

The acting is reasonable, not too great but absolutely not unbearably bad. It's good on a comedic way. The scenery is beautiful, of course because this movie takes place in New Zealand. There are two sorts of sheep in this movie, real sheep and CGI sheep. The CGI sheep look terrible in a funny way. They look so bad that you can't do anything else besides laughing.

I do recommend that everyone should watch Black Sheep, it's a comedic horror movie about zombie sheep and be honest, who wouldn't want to see that? I loved watching it!

Review: The ABC's of Death (2012)

Look what appeared on Netflix yesterday! I've wanted to watch this movie for such a long time already, but I never got around watching it. I've heard good things about this movie and bad things. 

The ABC's of Death are 26 segments with a death cause for every letter. It was not really what I hoped for though, I hoped that we'd see some awesome horror deaths and that each letter would represent some awesome creature, for example, Z for Zombie, V for Vampire etc. Unfortunately it were some random death causes rather than specific ones.

What did I think about it myself? I'm not really sure, some segments were really good and some were terribly bad. I think most of them were quite bad to be honest.

The ABC's of Death is an ambitious anthology film featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world's leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children's educational ABC books, the motion picture is comprised of 26 individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a world to create a story involving death. Provocative, shocking, funny and ultimately confrontational; The ABC's of Death is the definitive snapshot of the diversity of modern horror. As I already said, there are 26 segments in this movie. They are very differs and have no connection at all with each other, that's what makes it fun to discuss them all!

A is for Apocalypse:

This was what the movie starts with and it pretty much gave me a huge 'WTF-feeling'. This could have been a really good segment if it actually contained an apocalypse, but instead we see a woman stabbing a man, which goes kinda wrong and afterwards you see that there's a bright red lightning nearing the window, which apparently is supposed to look like the apocalypse has started. Not really a good one.

My rate: 4/10

B is for Bigfoot

Not a bad segment, but it took awhile for me to realize what the name Bigfoot was good for. If you think about it, the people are telling about a mexican snowman, which could have been bigfoot. Since he's also a sort of Snowman.

C is for Cycle

This segment reminded me so much of the movie Triangle. I really love those cycle movies because they are so difficult to understand but eventually there will always be a part that can't be right compared with the rest. Good segment.

D is for Dogfight

This was definitely my favorite segment. It was filmed amazingly, even the scenes with the dog were frightening. And then when the dog realizes who the guy is, he turns around and attacks his new boss. It was shown perfectly, and the emotions were really well shown, from dog and human. Beautiful story too.

My rate: 9/10

E is for Exterminate

Exterminate was a reasonable segment. It was not very interesting, but it was definitely not bad either. The little spiders crawling out of the man's ear was very frightening.

My rate: 6/10

F is for Fart

Well here is were the weird stuff starts, and of course it's from Japan. A girl loves farts and right before she dies she sniffs the farts of her teacher so the room is filled with yellow fart and then she is sucked into the teacher's bum where it's also filled with fart. Yeah....

My rate: 3/10

G is for Gravity

I did not really got what happened in this segment. It was over quite fast and nothing really happened. I searched for it on wikipedia and now I get what happened. I don't think it was a good segment, but this is mainly because I had no idea what the purpose of this one was. If it was shown a bit better I might have liked it a lot better

H is for Hydro-Electric Diffusion

Another weird one, Nazi-dogs and British dog pilots. Absolutely too weird to discuss.

I is for Ingrown
Well, I literally don't have an idea of what was happening in this segment. A girl in a bathtub and a dude with a needle. She has a lot of itches and dies. A bit weird but it was filmed in a very interesting way.

J is for Jidai-geki (Samurai Movie)
When a letter is too difficult to make a segment with, the directors and writers are cheating a bit. As you can see with this one, it is a reference to something with another meaning. Cheaters! Anyway, this segment was a rather strange one too. But what I mainly notice in this movie is that all the really weird segments are all Asian. This segment is about a Japanese guy who is making ridiculous facial expressions right before his head is being chopped off. The meaning behind this? You tell me...

K is for Klutz
Basically it's about poo missing his owner who just shat him out. It's the first animation and well, that's probably the only thing special about it.
My rate: 3/10

L is for Libido
Libido is definitely a very strange segment, it's gross and kinda sick. But the story was powerful, and definitely one to remember, again, in a sick way. And of course, made by an asian guy. This segment would have fitted perfectly in A Serbian Film, that should say enough huh? Basically, it's a 'fapping-contest', where in every stage two guys need to masturbate to something on the stage. When they "finish" last, they will be killed. Every stage is being made more difficult. For example, the first few rounds include a few attractive woman, while the eleventh round includes a sick girl who is "enjoying" herself with a fake leg. And the twelfth round includes something way sicker than that, yes indeed, a little boy being molested by a fat dude. You don't actually see this (of course), but the idea behind is should be enough to make you sick. And then the next stage, having sex while the guy is being attacked by a chainsaw. You now understand why this segment would be perfect for A Serbian Film?

M is for Miscarriage
A very short segment, but also quite a powerful one. There's a toilet that refuses to flush, a girl who searches for a plunger and afterwards there's a shot of what's inside the toilet: A lot of blood. Of course, your first thought would be that the girl is on her period or something, but afterwards you realize it's indeed a dead fetus. I quite liked this one.

N is for Nuptials
I loved this segment. It's about a guy who makes a parrot talk and let's the parrot ask the girl to marry him. All very sweet and stuff, but afterwards the parrot keeps talking and reveals some rather interesting things about his affair. It was quite hilarious.

O is for Orgasm
Sex and bubbles, that's what this segment is about and it that was rather boring.
My rate: 2/10

P is for Pressure
Another powerful segment. A mother is forced to prostitute herself to take care of her and her three children, then her money is stolen and she needs to do something way more awful to get the money.
There's not a word being said in this segment, but it sure was clear and very powerful.
My rate: 8/10

Q is for Quack
Not sure what to think about this one. It's being shown as if people are really arguing about what to make with the letter 'Q'. Then they decide to kill and duck (quack), everyone cares way more about this duck and that's being down quite cleverly, because eventually they killed each other instead of the duck.
 My rate: 6/10

R is for Removed
I really don't get what the purpose of this one was. Guy is in a hospital, he is being photographed, gets a bullet removed, gets aggressive and pushes a train which makes it rain blood. Yeah, that's about it and that does not create an amazing segment in my opinion. It was filmed really awesome, but unfortunately that's about it.

S is for Speed
A decent segment. The story itself was not very interesting and seemed a lot like a combination between Death Proof and The Bold and the Beautiful. But the meaning behind the segment was done rather well. I liked the switch at the end.

T is for Toilet
Toilet was more a funny segment because it was made with Clay. And not in a cool Wallace & Gromit way, but more in a very bad way. The bad animations made it quite funny and the story itself was quite funny too.

U is for Unleashed
Ah, a vampire one! We unfortunately never saw this vampires because we saw everything through his eyes. It was made really awesome, but not a whole lot happened.

V is for Vagitus
Yeah, another one that's too weird to discuss. I have no idea what was happening.

W is for WTF!
A very weak and annoying attempt at making a segment.

X is for XXL
I loved this one, it was a very good view on society, where it's often that women are being 'pushed' to be beautiful. This is mainly because of the false and fake advertising of photoshopped models and this is exactly what happened with this woman. The woman was being called fat and she wants to be skinny because everything around her says her to be. At that point she cuts off half of her bodyfat.
Super powerful and very true in an extreme way. We also see a familiar face which is Ivan Gonzalez from The Divide. Not so strange because The Divide was created by the same guy who developed XXL.

Y is for Youngbuck
Good segment, very good casting and a good short story.

Z is for Zetsumetsu
Yeah again, japanese segment. Too weird to discuss, so I won't attempt it.
My rate: 3/10

I searched all the directors of the segments on IMDB and I don't knew a whole lot. There were only 4 directors from which I've seen other work. These movies included The Divide, Hobo With a Shotgun, some of the segments of VHS and A Serbian Film. It's funny because I made a comparison with A Serbian Film with the segment Libido, but strangely enough that was not the one created by the same director. He created Remove.

Overall, The ABC's of Death is a strange movie. It has some really good segments but mostly it's crap. It's more a movie to make fun of when you're drunk (and that's exactly what I did the second time I watched it).

Is it worth a watch? Well, like I said, some segments are but the other ones are very hard to watch because they are so weird and mostly boring. In a sober condition it's quite a difficult and boring movie to watch. It was definitely not what I expected from this movie and afterwards I was quite disappointed by it.
